Optimal Experience is an experience strategy firm that brings together the expertise of our Australian team with the capability of our sister companies (Optimal Usability & Optimal Workshop) and partners in Australia & the U.S. We are also Australia’s representative to the UX Alliance, an international alliance of diverse user experience companies.
We have a long-term, proven track record of partnering with clients to design & implement practical strategies that work in the real world, not just in theory. As consultants & designers, our experience covers all types of applications, technologies & channels, involving customer-facing systems, internal applications & B2B/B2G interactions. Environments include graphical interfaces, browser-based systems, mobile devices & applications, speech systems, kiosks, paper-based systems, the physical design of devices & spaces, and services. As educators & trainers, we work with universities, professional organisations, & clients to deliver courses, workshops & presentations.
Our industry has evolved from focusing on usability (particular functionality) to UX design (a particular channel) to cross-channel & service design (all touchpoints making up the experience). This evolution has opened up new possibilities & has made our work that much more important. However, our industry is in the process of changing even more & even more significantly. Consequently, we have changed & are changing even more - applying & supplementing the skills that we’ve fine-tuned to addressing challenging experience-focused, human-centred, strategic problems. Our services are designed to make a real difference- by involving business (model) design, organisational (re)design, & so-called 'wicked' problem solving. We recognise that 'design' cannot be merely in the hands of 'designers' anymore. To be successful, design must be collaborative. Therefore, it's important for us to leverage our design skills in the broader context as facilitator/leader/coach.
