About Us
For almost 30 years, Benchmark Electronics has been helping companies get their products developed and manufactured. As our name implies, these products are typically electronics-based (they have at least a circuit board or two in them). But there the similarity can end, as these products range from small handheld medical products to large industrial equipment, even super computers boasting some of the fastest, most powerful computing on the planet. To provide such broad, in-depth engineering and manufacturing services, a multi-disciplinary workforce of over 11,000 is deployed in 22 locations around the globe. This provides extremely robust design engineering capabilities on three continents, which incorporate Industrial Design services in studio environments within the corporate structure. We can design, develop, prototype, test, automate, manufacture and deliver a product to anywhere in the world, and we do this for leading OEM companies around the globe every day. We are problem solvers, and work hand-in-hand with our customers to help them realize their vision, creating new and better products for their customers.
While all of our facilities have ISO-certified manufacturing capabilities, 3 are integrated Design Engineering Centers:
• Minnesota Division, in the heart of the US
• Almelo, The Netherlands
• Penang, Malaysia
In addition to the disciplines you would expect to find (mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, wireless, test) and some you might not (optics, robotics, automation, micro-electronics/machining/assembly) these locations are home to our award-winning Industrial Design teams. The teams are comprised of specialists in conceptualization, form, graphics, human factors, interaction design and user advocacy. ID brings aesthetic and human factor considerations to the design challenge, working directly with engineering and manufacturing to ensure concepts are viable, producible, usable, useful and desirable.
