SMARTpen is a innovative product using state of the art biometric technology enhancing the processes of authentication, fraud detection, security and cryptography in e-businesses around the world.
Based on the idea that everyone's style of writing is unique, the SMARTpen has sensors that determine the angle and precise movements of the pen during signature. After doing so, it verifies the signature, encrypts the signature data, and transmits the signature through a radio transmission to be used by an authentication program. Third parties may use this authentication program to allow the user to access files on a computer or to use a credit card to purchase a product.
The SMARTpen is a microcomputer that writes on regular paper just like a ball-pen, eliminating the requirements for special writing surfaces, tablets or other resources. It is also effective in non-Western character sets, such as Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and Hebrew.
MAXIMALdesign developed this innovative product including the SMARTpen brand identity, packaging and marketing collateral.
