Masahiro Takahashi is a multi-award winning designer with career experience as Senior Designer with Sony Corporation, Tokyo, and Sony Corporation of America, New York; Manager of the Australian Design Council's Japan Exporters' Program; and Chief Designer / Design Director with major design offices in Australia and Japan. In 1996 he established DESIGN: Takahashi, which offers strategic design planning, product development, design management, and creative consulting on design, specializing in consumer products, branding and visual identity. He gives workshops on design for the Hong Kong Productivity Council, and has been a guest lecturer at the Tokyo Polytechnic Institute, Faculty of Design. He is a member of the Japan Industrial Designers' Association (JIDA) and of the Japanese Society for the Science of Design (JSSD). His book, "From Idea to Product: The Integrated Design Process" was published in 1999 by the Hong Kong Productivity Council, and he is co-author of "The Guidelines for Contracts and Design Fees" (JIDA, Tokyo).
