About Us
Design Inch is an award winning, multi-skilled design studio with highly creative abilities that can work efficiently within deadlines and budgets to produce optimum results for our clients. Our team is made up of highly qualified innovative individuals that like to combine straightforward thinking with creative zeal in order to produce clever, head-turning ideas every time. Design Inch has worked on a large and varied portfolio of work but our areas of particular expertise are Product Design, Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Corporate Presentations and Commercial Photography. Design Inch was founded by Industrial Designer Shane Molloy who is a Design Advisor for Queens University of Belfast, giving advice and guidance to Small and Medium Enterprises on how design can work to improve their business growth. Shane has been recognised for his creativity in many ways, receiving second prize in the all-Ireland National ‘Designer of the Year Award 2002’ for the New Generation Design Challenge – Tyrone and Tipperary Crystal. His street furniture designs were short-listed in the ‘International Photo-real Furniture Competition 2005’ and he was also awarded Second prize in the ‘National ESB Photography Awards 2001’.
Design Inch has provided design services to a number of large multinational companies such as Allsop European Ltd, Scotsman Beverage Systems the leading supplier of beverage systems in Europe and Manitowoc one of the world’s leading manufacturers of commercial food equipment, as well as other well known brands but we also work with SMEs and individual clients.
Working indirectly with Manitowoc Beverage Systems has allowed Design Inch to undertake and successfully complete design projects with Anheuser-Busch InBev, SAB Miller, Scottish & Newcastle, etc, these major beer breweries have strong brand portfolios and we at Design Inch had the opportunity to provide design concepts for global brands such as Strongbow, Coors Light, Pepsi, Brahma, Hansa, Carling, Miller, Bavaria, Bulmer, Magners, Dunkin’ Donuts, TRUfill, TRUpour and Stella Artois.”
Within the street furniture sector we have also worked with Castit Ltd, a leading manufacturer and supplier of street furniture and exterior lighting in Ireland. We worked with them to successfully design and develop a full range of street furniture products called the ‘Urban Passenger’ which consisted of a litter bin, seat, bollard and a bench. Design Inch was successfully selected to exhibit this range of street furniture products at the ‘Designed In Ireland’ exhibition for National Design Week 2009.
We work with clients from project inception and concept design stage right through to computer generated models, photo-real rendered image and motion presentation for marketing of the final product. Design Inch is committed to staying on the cutting edge of the newest technologies. Our design studio is equipped with the latest computer workstations and laptop machines. Our studio uses professional studio lighting and the latest Canon cameras for film making and still photography. We have extensive knowledge and use the latest creative software on the market today such as - Adobe Master Collection CS4 / Maxon Cinema 4D. Keeping ourselves up to date with the newest software packages encourages us to explore exciting new territory and we are constantly learning new ways to develop our creativity, this in turn helps us to deliver fresh and exciting new ideas for all our clients.
