About Us
Tracey M. Kessler was born in Huntington, New York. She attended FIT in New York City where she earned her BFA in 1995. She augmented her mastery of painting in her studies at the Instituto de Conservacion y Restauracion de Bienes Culturales in Madrid.
She began her career in New York City working for Charles Gwathmey, who later would come to inspire her paintbrush after lengthy conversations about Charles’s father: a well-established artist. After working at Kenneth Alpert, Gwathmey Siegel and Bruce Bierman, her interior design work took her to Philadelphia and then San Francisco where in 2001 she launched her own firm.
After success on the West coast, she again spent time in New York City where she continued her life-long painting career. Her work reflects the calm she finds in the daily interactions and conversations with random acquaintances, friends, and family. Though inspired throughout the turbulent times of our modern era, her work (influenced by such artists as Tapies, Twombley, and Stein) possesses a soothing, calm and organic feel clearly paralleled by her California mountain homestead.
Tracey can now be found working on her paintings, screen-printing, and textile designs amidst the Mt. Tamalpais area. Her works are available for viewing by appointment.
