Globally connected Industrial/product design, and design research consultancy, with experience in many industries, and extensive cross cultural experience.
The founder, Rob Curedale was born in Australia and worked as a designer, design manager and design educator in London, Sydney, Vevey, Switzerland, Portugal, Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, Hong Kong, China and Detroit.
Curedaledesign is globally connected through a large network of clients and associates. We undertake competitive and global trend research to accurately focus our design process. We have wide ranging cross cultural industrial experience and expertise.
For more than 25 years, Curedale has managed the development of medical, technology and consumer products in global markets including Europe, Australia, Asia and North America. During this time, Curedale designed hundreds of products as a consultant and in-house design manager at corporate offices and consultancies. Clients include HP, Philips, GEC, Nokia, Sun, Apple, Canon, Motorola, Nissan, Audi VW, Disney, RTKL, City of Abu Dhabi, The Royal and Australian Navy Navies and airforces, Steelcase, Hon, Castelli, Gensler, RTKL, Haworth, Honeywell, NEC, Hoover, Packard Bell, Dell, Black & Decker and Harmon Kardon, among others.
Rob was Director of US Operations for a leading China based Industrial design and manufacturing sourcing consultancy. Rob works with product developers to find the most effective way to manufacture products and components in Asia.
Past design school teaching experience includes Yale, Cranbrook Academy of Art, Art Center Europe; a faculty member at Sydney College of the Arts and the UTS Sydney; and as Chair of Product Design at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, the largest Product Design school in North America, Escola De Artes e Design Matosinhos in Oporto Portugal, Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, Instituto De Artes Visuals, Design e Marketing, Lisbon, Southern Yangtze University, Jiao Tong University in Shanghai and Nanjing Arts Institute in China. He delivered the opening address at the Industrial Design Institute conference in Boston on design and manufacturing in China.
