About Us
In 1999 industrial designers Gideon Wilkinson and Paul Veness, spotting the need for a practical, hands-on brand implementation agency, set up Endpoint Limited. After years of working between project management and product design roles, they realised that there was a huge gap between a designer’s vision and a sign company’s delivery.
The former rarely understand the technical aspects of delivering a large scale, 3D sign programme. This causes no end of grief for sign companies, who in turn end up tweaking designs to meet stringent requirements, undermining design integrity.
The latter, although very capable of haggling with councils and managing installers, are driven by two things – specifying what they can cheaply produce (covering the huge investment they put into tooling) and specifying a lot of it.
The results can be expensive, overbranded environments, a world away from the sleek photovisuals provided by the designer. Also, compromise after compromise, the client’s brief soon deteriorates into an expensive, messy and delayed sign programme.
Endpoint was established to plug this gap – by bringing together 30 project managers, product designers, wayfinding experts, engineers and signage specialists we provide clients with a unique skill-set, providing practical solutions and ensuing the client’s brief takes priority over all other drivers. Less is often more and our wayfinders are tasked with integrating architectural and environmental controls, ensuring that each sign has a specific, crucial role and that there are no superfluous wayfinding elements.
In January 2008 Endpoint Gulf opened for business, a natural step given Endpoint’s burgeoning client base in the region.
Endpoint brings unrivalled experience in sign design and wayfinding and we have already completed numerous regional projects, including product development for the DIFC complex and Dubai Healthcare City.
