About Us
Idea-> Concept-> Design-> Prototype-> Product development
Empirical Innovation is a product design & prototyping firm based out of Boston Ma. We are a tight group of designers, engineers, and entrepreneurs. We add value to product ideas by taking them through our highly developed and thorough design process.
1. Product Design & Development: Product design & development transverses many aspects of design, engineering, business, and entrepreneurship. Our aim is to bring a client’s product idea through a design process that encompasses all aspects of “Product Design” as explained below.
a. Problem definition: The first step of the design process is problem definition. The client and designer have an in depth conversation(s) concerning what problem the product will solve in full detail.
b. Product definition: 2nd step… The client and the designer have an in depth conversation(s) concerning how the product will solve the defined problem. The client & designer will lay out all parameters including, weight, size, dimensions, colors, manufacturing methods, target market, price point, and market entry strategy.
c. Conceptual design: 3rd step… The designer will take all gathered information in step one (Problem definition) and two (Product definition) and come up with conceptual product design(s) that will solve the problem to the parameters defined by the client.
d. Renderings: 4th step… In most cases we will provide high definition renderings of the product design concepts with a company watermark on them. In some cases clients will need revisions of the renderings for: patent work, sales, marketing, ect.
e. Manufacturing drawings (Option): 5th step… In some cases the client will need detailed dimensional manufacturing drawings; these will include the company logo.
2. Prototyping (Option): Prototypes are project dependent; meaning in most cases it will be feasible but sometimes not. Manufacturing methods such as 3D printing will be highly recommended.
