About Us
Dolton & Dex was founded in 2009 with my long term design colleague James Dex.
Our mission is very clear. We want to design objects that have no compromise. That means no form follows function arguments in the studio! If it’s a Dolton & Dex design it has to work AND look beautiful.
Too often Industrial designers hide behind the form follows function argument, primarily because they are scared to stick there neck out and say
“Look at this! It’s beautiful because I intended it to be”
We believe this has come about through a mixture of laziness and poor training. James and I trained in car design and worked in the automotive sector for just over 10 years. What we do is utilise the emotional triggers that the automotive world has understood for years and translate them into product design.
