CRE8 DESIGN has assisted Corsair in developing a wide range of projects together over the years, including the graphical user interface design for its software. With the launch of Corsair’s K70 and K95 RGB gaming keyboards, also designed by CRE8, a new version of the software was required in order to support more advanced functions and settings.
Designed to work across Corsair’s entire product line, the Primetime software is truly versatile, incorporating an intuitive layout and well-defined tabs to categorize essential functions, so users can navigate the settings with ease.
Offering an array of 16.8 million color choices for the RGB keyboards, the software requires an effective interface to manage the macro color setup. CRE8 came up with a uniquely designed color editing platform for easy programming, including a “lighting effect bar” that enables users to view color combinations for action lighting, foreground lighting, and background lighting simultaneously. A reverse effect is added to the color editing process to create a fun touch. When gamers pull up the buttons, the reversed design makes the color volume drop.
Keeping its design language consistent, Primetime GUI successfully incorporates Corsair’s branding aesthetics and visual elements: honeycombed patterns in the background and a premium “midnight dark” high-tech feel. This cohesive design strategy provides end users with an enhanced, sophisticated overall gaming product experience.
