The Jacuzzi Hydrotherapy Shower is a walk-in, aging-in-place shower with novel hydrotherapy features that can be easily installed in the standard 60” x 32” bathtub footprint found in many American homes. It provides a wide swathe of aging consumers with a highly functional, safe showering space and fills a void in the marketplace for an affordable, elegant solution.
This is Jacuzzi’s first shower product for an aging population. After good results from launching a walk-in bathtub, the company pinpointed this potential growth area and decided to expand.
Comparably low-cost solutions look institutional. Custom solutions are expensive to install, as are threshold-free ADA-compliant shower enclosures, which require lowering the drain or raising the floor. Jacuzzi Hydrotherapy is a low-threshold shower that is not fully ADA compliant but offers many of the ergonomic and safety advantages of a fully ADA-compliant shower enclosure at a significantly lower product cost and installation cost.
