Rarecyte, Inc. manufactures life science equipment which separates and selects single cells from billions for analysis. Rarecyte recently partnered with Anvil Studios for concept ideation support exploring the industrial design opportunities for their Collector and Scanner products.
Our design solution pairs clean geometric forms with minimal detailing to create a quiet gesture which focuses entirely on the sample intake deck. The top surface is gently arched to prevent objects from being stored above; and the base cutouts create feet which elevate the system and incorporate both air intake and venting hidden within. Visual simplicity balances with bold design cues, creating an elegant solution designed to stand alone or in multiples.
