About Us
Meloy Architects were established in 2008 to provide a high quality contemporary architectural service based in East Sussex. The practice currently works in Brighton and Hove, London and throughout Sussex and Hampshire. The practice undertakes work from large commercial projects and masterplans through to one off house and extensions. Meloy Architects undertake this work from inception through planning to construction on site. The approach is to combine a rigorous architectural analysis in conjunction with a close dialogue with the client and any stakeholders to fully understand the needs of the project. This formulates a clear diagram at an early stage of the process and underpins the realisation of any project, regardless of scale. Commissions are delivered within an agreed time period and budget that is established at an early stage. The office is run by Charles Meloy Arb Bsc (Hons) Ba(Dist) ARB who has worked previously for internationally renowned practices in London (Richard Rogers Partnership and Nicholas Grimshaw and Partners) before moving to the South Coast. The practice has an expanding customer base, located throughout the UK, and works in both the public and private sectors. Sustainability is seen as a holistic part of the design process with materials sourced responsibly, renewable energies promoted where appropriate and passive solar design a key component of the architecture. This practice makes use of extensive experience on large commercial buildings and masterplans through to smaller bespoke houses and extensions. Working across this range in scale and typology maintains a healthy breadth of architectural thought. Meloy Architects have completed projects throughout the South Coast and London and are pleased to announce the completion their latest project, a new build coastal property on Hayling Island. Full details of this residence and other projects can be seen on the company's website.
