We designed the Vimar touch screen, an integral part of the smart home systems offer, to house the View system interface in elegant and clean shapes. We imagined this device as a digital window over the "home" environment, an essential object to appear almost immaterial and take up as little space as possible. Intending to enhance its digital contents, we created a compact and clean surface, in white or black crystal, anchored on an elusive body, which makes it appear suspended. We carefully chose the materials and studied solutions for joining the parts, which are impossible to perceive once the device is mounted on the wall to achieve this result. The Vimar touch screen has become a new benchmark in the industry owing to its ability to create a unique and coherent experience between physical elements and interface, wall-mounted device and mobile application. The German Design Council awarded Vimar touch screen the Iconic Award 2018 for its simplicity and intuitiveness.
