Renfrew Group International provides engineering support to Digilens Inc. of Sunnyvale CA for their new Motorcycle Helmet Head-Up Display (HUD)
The Digilens reference design is a fully integrated display element and computer system with wireless networking, accelerometers and sensors working together to optimize the motorcycle riding experience. It will provide a completely immersive, mixed reality experience using augmented reality (AR) to layer vital information with an enhanced field of vision without disrupting concentration on the road.
Renfrew Group International (RGI) was commissioned to package the new HUD system into a motorcycle helmet and then provide test units and a dozen wearable systems for the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in January this year. Helmets finished and trimmed in BMW livery were despatched to Digilens for the precision assembly and set-up of their proprietary wave guide optic eye pieces. The commission also included the provision of battery charging stations and laboratory test units for use in Digilens’ labs.
