The Product
The Aquasana Clean Water Machine pitcher and filter feature Claryum® technology filters. This system filters 15X more than the leading filter, with zero installation and a convenient pitcher while retaining healthy, beneficial minerals for purely delicious water.
The Challenge
Sun Water Systems partnered with Speck Design to expand its consumer product line by introducing a filtered water pitcher. An industry leader in water filtration, Sun Water Systems differentiates itself through higher performance, better value, and unmatched convenience. To Speck, this signaled the final design and function of the pitcher needed to adhere to these same standards of excellence.
The Process
Starting with user research, Speck Design was able to understand user needs. Zeroing in on convenience melded with high-performance, the combined efforts of Engineering and Industrial Design teams looked first to create a best-in-class filter mechanism with the ability to filter water faster. Given Sun Water Systems' reputation as a modern water filtration Maverick, the end product also needed to be aesthetically pleasing to enhance Aquasana's presence and brand recognition in the retail marketplace.
The Outcome
The pitcher and filter system Speck created is unlike most gravity-fed filtered water pitchers available today. The Aquasana pitcher forces water through a carbon block at high pressure re
