The Laffy doll is a unique children's toy designed to use laughter to inspire and create laughter, specifically for children undergoing treatment for cancer.
Pulse worked to develop Laff-A-Lot as a friendly and nonthreatening character while, in parallel, tailoring the electronics to accommodate a unique array of voices and sounds. Its compact size and form factor makes Laff-A-Lot ergonomic for small hands and easy to keep clean.
Laff-A-Lot was designed with 20 programmed laughs and the ability to record 4 more, crucially important for children who may spend periods of time in the hospital without a specific loved one nearby.
Very important to the brand development was creating a play experience that gives back. Each Laffy toy sold results in two dollars donated to the Children's Cancer Society of America.
