Based on Boston's North Shore, we specialize in publication design, art direction, and project management. Our work includes illustrated books, magazines, newsletters, catalogs, annual reports, websites, and many other types of print and online communications. We excel at creating designs that integrate words and images to produce compelling, well organized publications and web environments.
What sets us apart as designers is that, unlike many graphic designers, we think like editors. Design is never just about looking good, it is about reinforcing or adding a new dimension to the text, presenting an appropriate visual tone, guiding the reader and looking good.

John has over 20 years experience as a graphic designer and art director, and has designed many award-winning publications. He was the founding design director of Experience, a career and lifestyle magazine for young professionals that was a national Ozzie Awards finalist for Best New Magazine Design. He also art directed Continental, the inflight magazine of Continental Airlines; Running Times, a magazine for competitive runners; and was the advertising art director of the Boston Phoenix.
The studio also produces a variety of marketing and collateral work including brochures, direct-mail, media kits, and identities.
